Seattle Peace and Safety
We are dedicated to dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline and advancing prevention-centered approaches to youth and community safety. Our work focuses on supporting justice-impacted youth and young adults through educational continuity, workforce pathways, and coordinated reentry navigation. We center lived experience, accountability, and data-informed practice, with an emphasis on long-term stability rather than short-term intervention.

Mission
Seattle Peace and Safety exists to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline by preventing youth criminalization, reducing reliance on detention, and advancing community-centered approaches to safety, accountability, and opportunity.
Vision
We envision a Seattle where young people are supported, not criminalized; where schools and communities respond to harm with care and accountability rather than punishment; and where public safety is defined by prevention, stability, and opportunity for all.
Core Beliefs
Seattle Peace & Safety is grounded in the following core beliefs:

Youth are not disposable; harm is often the result of unmet needs, untreated trauma, and limited access to opportunity.

Over the last 18 months, Seattle Peace and Safety has been deeply engaged with pre-adjudicated youth at King County Juvenile, providing consistent mentorship, academic support, and structured guidance. Our work centers on helping young people follow through on their education, stay engaged in daily academics, and make meaningful progress toward their high school competencies and graduation goals.
By building trust, reinforcing positive decision-making, and encouraging honor-level behaviors, we’ve seen measurable improvements. Youth participating in our sessions experienced fewer infractions, maintained honor level for longer periods, and demonstrated stronger commitment to their academic pathways. Several are now actively working toward — and nearing — high school completion.
This partnership reflects our broader mission: creating safe, supportive spaces where young people can heal, grow, and build futures rooted in purpose rather than punishment.
